Arche Scaligeri
(Scaligeri Tombs) The monumental tombs of the Scaligeri family, the powerful and ruthless rulers of Verona, are considered some of the most fascinating Gothic funerary monuments in Italy. The cemetery is only visible to visitors through the fencing that surrounds it. Some of the tombs are particularly memorable because of their rich decoration and imposing structures. Among these tombs are the tombs of Mastino II, Cangrande I, Alberto I, and Cansignorio.
