Vienna City Hall
The Rathaus, or the city hall, is a building located in Vienna that serves as the seat for both the city council for Vienna and the mayor. It also serves as Governor and Assemble of the State of Vienna.
Designed by Friedrich von Schmidt in Gothic style, the Rathaus was developed from 1872 to 1883. On the top of the tower, the Rathausmann (Vienna symbol) is located. The Rathaus faces a large park called the Rathauspark. Inside the city hall, the Rathaus boasts magnificent state rooms including the Festival Hall, the Senate Chammber, the Arkadenhof, The Stone Halls and the Nordbuffet, the Council Chamber and the Coat of Arms Halls and Grand Staircases. More than 2,000 people work in the building.
