Schubert Museum
Your vacation in Vienna may never be complete if you can’t get a glimpse of their culture and their history. There are several museums to choose from including the Schubert Museum located in Nussdorferstrasse. This museum used to be the home of the famous composer Franz Schubert. You can see several mementos that will tell the story of the composer and the provenance of his compositions. During that time the Schubert residence was known as the Zum roten Krebs or in English, The Red Crabs.
By the time that Vienna owned the place, the officials decided not to make any kind of alternations in order to preserve the birthplace of Franz Schubert. If you were to visit the Schubert Museum today, you will still see the original manuscripts, vintage furniture, pictures, musical scores, and the objects used by Franz Schubert on a daily basis.
Although this is the place where the famous and notable composer was born and spent most of his life, Franz Schubert passed away at the age of 31 at their other house located in Kettenbrückengasse 6.
In order to get inside the Schubert Museum, adults must pay $2.60 while the students and the children aging ten to sixteen must pay an entrance fee worth $1.30.
