Hundertwasserhaus
The Hundertwasser House Vienna, simply known as Hundertwasserhaus, is an apartment house in Austria, which was named after its designer and popular Austrian artist, Friedensreich Hundertwasser.
Hundertwasserhaus is Vienna landmark located at the 3rd district. The structure, which was built around 1983 to 1986 by architects Peter Pelikan and Professor Joseph Krawina, features undulating floors, a roof covered with grass and large trees indoors that extend from the windows. This place was named after Hundertwasser due to the fact that he did not accept payment for the house’s design, saying that the work was worth it – making something ugly into a beauty it has become today.
Within the Hundertwasserhaus are four offices, 52 apartments, 16 private terraces and beautiful communal terraces with over 250 well-kept trees and bushes.
Considered as one of Austria’s most-visited buildings, Hundertwasserhaus has become a part of the country’s cultural heritage.
