| We were on a holiday tour of Rome and one place of importance that you should not miss if ever you are to go there is the Borghese Galleria. The reservation of tickets is an ordeal .But it is quite understandable as there is no rush during each slot as only limited people are allowed inside each time and you can stay inside only for a limited period. Now let me brief you up with the gallery. The whole gallery is bedecked as each and every exterior is minutely and beautifully adorned. Prior to my visit, I happened to see a lot of pictures of this gallery, but nothing prepared me for the awesome splendor of each ornated part of the gallery. When I came face to face with it. The ornamentation is way beyond our imagination. There are two floors to see, but I would advise you to go through the top floor speedily and reserve your precious time to look at the Benini master pieces, the ceiling frescos and paintings of Caravaggio. The fine arts are simply marvelous and incredible. I just cannot put this in words. The master pieces of Bernini are simply out standing and more splendid in reality. I found the Caravaggio paintings more vibrant than in its pictures that I had seen before. And now I have come to realize why ceiling frescos are considered such an important part of art after seeing them in person. One of these frescos has made use of Michelangelo’s color scheme daringly. It is really wonderful. There is also a small restaurant in the gallery. The food items are reasonably priced. But be prepared to dole out something extra and linger around for quite some time if you decide to sit and eat. You are allowed to linger and have a drink at the bar similar to almost all the areas inn Europe, but there is not really any place to sit down and relax. inside the gallery. You will only find a seat or two in the hallway and that is it. There is also a Boutique in the gallery which has only a restricted stock of goods most of them which are quite useless or not in the least bit related to what you have seen. I would not advise you to buy anything from there. There is a Metro Station very near to the Borghese Gallery, right outside the grounds on the opposite side of the building. This will be around three fourth of a mile from the Museum. Try and make use of this. |
