What happened to the Kamala Bay Terrace Resort?

The Kamala Bay Terrace Resort in Kamala Beach was one of the most popular resorts in Kamala at one time but it has disappeared and some tourists have been disappointed about that. The owner of the Kamala Bay Terrace Resort was based in Indonesia and he had been having financial difficult to start with. A few of my friends actually managed this hotel in Phuket and they told me that there were always problems with the owner.

Anyway then the tragic tsunami on the 26th of December 2004 occurred and it caused a lot of damage to the Kamala Bay Terrace Resort. The resort was never rebuilt / repaired and the property was sold later to a real estate developer. I believe that the Kamala Bay Terrace resort has now been turned into a high end residential complex.
