Yes there are many internet based businesses in Thailand but I don't know if there are more then elsewhere.

I know that a lot of expats run an internet business in Thailand and they do so because it if one of the few options available to them to earn some money in Thailand. Obviously running an internet based company from your home will allow you to work without having to get a work permit which is impossible anyway for any small one man internet companies in Thailand.

Many of the internet based companies in Thailand involve either offering services or selling locally made products. The services I am talking about are generally services such as search engine optimization, website development and design and freelance consulting work. You can have clients from around the world and deal with them through your very own internet based business in Thailand.
