There have been a lot of drowning incidences in Phuket and this has become a growing concern among the hotels and resorts dotting the area. Altough precautionary measures have been employed like having more lifeguards, flag warnings and verbal warnings, there are still incidences that warrant more attention from the authorities. It is heartening to note that organizations like the jet ski operators have lent a helping hand by volunteering some of their jet skis to monitor the shores of the beach. Trainings are now conducted for volunteer lifeguards to increase the number of lifeguards in the area.
