Car auctions are not very common in Phuket but from time to time there are car auctions in Phuket. I believe that the Thai customs department holds one or 2 car auctions a year in Phuket and they will sell cars which were confiscated. Normally they don't advertise very well for these Phuket car actions and it is rumored that the staff will take all the good cars for themselves before the actual car action will start. You should also frequently check out the Phuket Gazette newspaper as there are at times also mentions there of car auctions in Phuket.
