Does Thailand have a large sex industry?

I have lived in Thailand for many years and I really love this country why I sometimes get rather upset when Thailand gets categorized as a sex travel industry as some people seem to get the idea that Thailand is only a nice holiday destination for old guys looking to have sex with young Thai girls or boys. However I can't be blind either and I must admit that there is a rather large sex industry in Thailand.

People generally think that the large sex industry of Thailand mainly targets tourists and travelers however this is generally only the case in the popular Thai holiday destinations such as Phuket, Samui and Pattaya. However you will find sex industry workers throughout Thailand catering to Thai customers as well in brothers, massage parlors and in karaoke bars. I would dare say that the sex industry for Thai customers is considerably larger then the sex industry for foreign tourists and travelers.
