What are the swimming conditions in Patong beach?

Normally the swimming conditions in Patong beach are pretty good. However please note that during the rainy season which is also the Phuket tourist low season which lasts from May until October there can be strong currents at time. So you should look out for the advice of lifeguards which are on duty and you should check what type of safety flag they are flying that day. Please note that during the Phuket tourist high season which is from November until April that swimming conditions are pretty good.

What I would like to warn you about is the following: There are a lot of speed boats and jet skies which can be found in the waters in front of the beach of Patong so you should really be careful when swimming further away from the shore. I have heard of some pretty nasty accidents which involved tourists and these leisure watercrafts.
