How much does a massage cost on the beach in Patong?

I have had many massages on the beach in Phuket over the years but I have been unable to notice a certain set of prices as prices for massages on the beach of Patong do vary a great deal.

First of all the prices vary between one massage lady and the next. All of the massage ladies working on the beach of Patong have "bought" their right to work on a certain spot of Patong beach. They are allowed to ask whatever they want for a massage. Normally they will only offer oil massages on the beach and most of the times that I got one I paid between 250 Thai Baht and 350 Thai Baht for an hour. I would recommend to choose one of the older ladies as they tend to be able to give better massages then the young girls. Also please note that in the Phuket tourist low season you are more likely to be able to negotiate a good deal as there are only few tourists around then.
